Introduction
Welcome to Our Lady of Guadalupe, a Spanish Immersion Program in Holy
Family Catholic Schools in Dubuque, Iowa!
Our Lady of Guadalupe Spanish Immersion Program is an innovative,
language-intensive, multi-cultural program implemented by Holy Family
Catholic Schools in 2002. The program operates as a complete K-5
elementary school within the Holy Family system, located on the St.
Anthony campus at Rosedale Ave. and St. Ambrose Street. The program
features full immersion in the Spanish language for its Kindergarten
and First Grade Students, with English gradually introduced and
expanded beginning in Second Grade. The Our Lady Program utilizes the
same curriculum, high educational standards, and thorough faith
instruction as Holy Family's other elementary schools, with a special
emphasis on bilingual language development. The Program also offers
immersion and dual-language pre-school classes and K-5 summer language
enrichment classes, and soon will offer specialized language
instruction for Our Lady of Guadalupe students enrolled in Holy
Family's Mazzuchelli Middle School and Wahlert High School.
